Biography

William E. (Bill) Walter, 80 Campbell…Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home with Kenny McCowin officiating for William E. (Bill) Walter, 80, who passed away Tuesday. Bill was born November 30, 1933, in Campbell, the son of F. Edward and Lou E. Carter Walter. He was a 1952 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Bill worked as a TV repairman for Hanlon Sales and Service and was a Truck Driver and Mechanic for Railway Express. Later, he was employed by Campbell City Schools as a bus mechanic for 20 years. He was a member of Hudson-Essex-Terraplane for 45 years. Bill's most enjoyable moments in his life were spending time with his family. He loved taking trips to the casino and relaxing at his place on Lake Erie. Bill leaves to cherish his memories his wife, the former Dorothy Hanlon, whom he married July 3, 1954 and spent 60 wonderful years together; his daughter Linda (Jeff) Wright of Campbell; his daughter-in-law, Vicki Walter of Campbell; grandchildren, Ryan, Bill, Fitch, Cis (fiancé, Jason) and Kassie; great-grandchildren, Korrina, Isaiah and K'dyn; his sister, Ruth Sierzega of Campbell; and his sisters-in law, Donna (George) Janis and Betty Bates. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ed; brother-in-law, Chester Sierzega; brothers-in-law, Jack, Jim, George, Bill, Bob, Raymond (Butch) and Charles Hanlon; and sisters-in-law, Mary Bricker, Rose Roby, Josephine Hanlon and Harriet Best. The Walter family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Sunday from 3-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
