William Joseph Sagy, Sr.
Pell City, AL…Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Struthers, with Rev. Bob Bonnot officiating for William Joseph Sagy, Sr., who passed away on Friday in Alabama.
William was born January 16, 1952, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph W. and Clara H. Checkel Sagy.
He was a 1970 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Northwood University.
He was a Quality Engineer and Lean Manager at WKW Erbsloeh Automotive. Previous to that, he worked for ASC for 25 years.
William was a member of Christ our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He enjoyed being an active participant in the Slovak Club, Hungarian Club and the American Legion.
William leaves to cherish is memories, his wife, the former Pelagia "Peggy" Antonas, of Pell City, Ala., whom he married September 2, 1972; his sons, David A.(Tanya) Sagy, of Ruskin, Fla. and William J. Sagy, Jr. of Sugar Hill, Ga.; his daughter, Alexa (Justin) Burley of Senoia, Georgia; three grandchildren, Bryce, JohnClark and Sienna; his sister, Judy Sagy of Owens Mills, Maryland; brother, Joseph Sagy of Lansing, Mich.; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Antonios of Campbell; also brother-in-law, John (Lisa) Antonas; sisters-in-law, Georginne (Louie) Douropoulos and Pamela (Craig) Direnzo; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Antonios J. Antonas.
The Sagy family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday from 9-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
