Obituary

Lowellville: Funeral services will be held 9:30am Monday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 10am in Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church in Youngstown for William W. Carnahan, 62 who passed away Wednesday afternoon, Bill was born Aug. 3, 1949 in Youngstown the son of James and Olga M. Malutic Carnahan. He was a 1968 graduate of North High School and attended Youngstown State University. Bill was a member of the church and a founding member of the Corvette Club of Mahoning Valley. He also coached baseball and soccer. He was a retired steel worker from Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., Sharon Steel, CSC and Caparo and also worked the last 10 years at Best Buy retiring in July of 2011. Bill would do anything for anyone, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life, one of the things he loved was to take his grandson to pre-school. He loved electronics, computers, old fast cars and music. He was a very hard worker; everyone that knew him loved him; he was very kind spirited and soft spoken. Bill was very proud of his sons; he was a loving husband, caring father and grandfather and always wanted to be involved with his kids and grandkids. He will be missed and his memory will be cherished forever by his wife, the former Kathy Matesevac whom he married May 21, 1983; two sons, Daniel of Cincinnati and David (Irisa) of Lowellville and their children Noah and Jonah Carnahan; a sister Dolores ââ?¬Å?Cookie쳌 Carnahan of Lowellville; two brothers James R. of Lowellville and Ronald (Chris) of Campbell; brother-in-law Stephen (Angie) Matesevac of Akron; sister-in-law Anne (Duane) VanSuch of Struthers and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law Anna and Joseph Matesevac. The Carnahan family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3-6pm.
