Lowellville: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12:30pm in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Byzantine Church in Youngstown for William ââ?¬Å?Zinc쳌 Balogh, 91 who passed away Wednesday morning. Bill was born Oct. 19, 1920 in Campbell the son of Minehart and Helen Toth Balogh. He was a 1939 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He served in the Aleutian Island for 2 years during WWII and received the Battle Star Medal. He was a member of the church; the Coitsville and Campbell Senior Citizens and was a Cub Scout Leader and little league coach for Coitsville. Bill retired in 1987 as an Optician from Rooney Optical in Youngstown; he was an avid bowler for many years and belonged to many local leagues. His wife the former Anne Lesigonich whom he married Aug. 3, 1946 passed away Sept. 7, 2004. He will be missed and his memory forever cherished by his two daughters, Carol (Tad) Shura of Coitsville and Barbara Sands of Concord, NC; two sons, William D. (Cheryl) Balogh of Coitsville and Ken (Margie) Balogh of Inverness, Fla.; two sisters, Josephine Samuels of Austintown and Tillie (Ted) Puskarcik of Campbell; five grandchildren, Brian (Lei) Shura of Santa Clara, Ca., Robin Shura, PhD of Hiram, Kara (Harn) Sands-Shiue, MD of Fultondale, Ala., Jennifer Balogh of Pittsburgh, and David (Kelly) Balogh of Pittsburgh, and one great granddaughter Savanna Balogh of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anne; brothers Lavente, Alador, Thomas and Robert and sisters Pamela Kouras and Florence Pramuka. The Balogh family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am to 12 noon at the Funeral Home.
