Obituary

Lowellville: Private funeral services will be held Saturday for Walter Malutic, 85 who passed away Tuesday evening. Walter was born July 24, 1926 in Youngstown the son of Peter and Mary Mich Malutic. He was a 1944 graduate of Lowellville High School; after high school he went on to serve his apprenticeship for 4 years as a brick layer with U.S. Steel and continued to work there as a brick layer until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement he continued to lay brick until 2005. Walter enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing Penuckle, spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Lowellville Seniors Golf League and the Coitsville Twp. Zoning Board. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, the former Marilyn Schroeder whom he married on July 6, 1950; his children Nancy (Tom) Kolat of Lowellville, Lynn (Ralph) Piccirilli of Poland, Thomas Malutic of Lowellville and Richard (Lisa) Malutic of Edinburg, Pa.; grandchildren Renee Brophy, Ronald Kolat, Danielle Piccirilli and Ricky Malutic and great-grandchildren Amanda and Ryan Brophy. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Randy Malutic; brothers John, Nicholas and Paul Malutic and two sisters Ann Hamrock and Olga Carnahan. The Malutic family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8pm.
