Obituary

Victor D. LaMarco, 83 CAMPBELL - Private family services were held Monday at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church, with Deacon John Rentas officiating for Victor D. LaMarco, 83, who passed away Saturday. Victor was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Youngstown, the son of Victor and Mary (Bartolo) LaMarco. He was a 1950 graduate of South High School, after which he served for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to further his education at Ohio Northern University where he received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1959. While attending Ohio Northern, he became a member of the Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity. Victor was a pharmacist for more than 40 years and participated in the founding of Phar-Mor. He was President of the Eastern Ohio Pharmaceutical Association, President of the former University Club, and a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, where he was an altar server and a member of the Men's Society. Victor survived Red Right 88, the Drive, and the Fumble, but remained a proud Cleveland Browns season ticket holder for more than 40 years. Victor leaves his wife, the former Gloria DeSanctis, whom he married on Oct. 22, 1955; daughters Kelly LaMarco (Julian Baum) and Terri LaMarco (Randy Swigart); and granddaughters Corinne LaMarco, Rachel LaMarco, and Sydney Swigart. Victor was preceded in death by his son Jerry LaMarco (Kathy Pytlik LaMarco). The LaMarco family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.
