Valerie Rose Vodhanel, 89 Austintown….Funeral services will be held at 7pm Tuesday evening at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, with Fr. Michael Swierz officiating for, Valerie Rose Vodhanel, 89, who passed away Saturday morning in the Hospice House. Valerie was born, Oct. 16, 1924 in Campbell, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Smiles Zuzga and was born and raised in Campbell. She was a 1942 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School; and besides being a homemaker, she was a bookkeeper for many years. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren, and she very much enjoyed spending time with them. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Karen Henning of Austintown; four sons, Michael (Linda) Vodhanel of Calif., Ron Vodhanel of Austintown, David (Janette) Vodhanel of Canfield and Tom Vodhanel of Austintown; eleven grandchildren, Andrea, who lived next door to her and visited her daily, Joe, David Michael, Denise, Michael, Jennifer, David Andrew, Megan, Shauna, Jim and Danny; six great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Joe Petrilli of Canfield; her dearest friend, Irene Yanno; and her former husband, Mike "Boham" Vodhanel. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kathy Petrilli; two sisters, Stella Spitt and Josephine Cornell; and three brothers, Frank, Joe and Tom Zuzga. The Vodhanel family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7pm.
