Biography

Therese (Bronnimann) Marinkovich, 81 Roswell, Georgia……..Therese was called home on June 28, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on April 29, 1932 in Zollikofen, Switzerland to Frieda & Gottfried Bronnimann. Therese came to America in 1951 where she met her husband, Momcilo Marinkovich and married him on April 15, 1960. Her Momcili built her a house in Campbell, Ohio where they lived until his death on December 23, 1989. Therese was a wife and homemaker. In her later years, she worked as a Teacher's Aide in the Campbell school system. Momcilo and Therese were longtime members of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church where, she enjoyed cooking with the Mother's and Sister's Clubs for church events. Therese is survived by her son, Marko Marinkovich ("her favorite child") of Cortland, Ohio and her daughter, Juliana Spaeth-Leek ("really her favorite child") and her son-in-law, William Leek of Roswell, Georgia While she loved being a mom, it was when her grandchildren, Brian, Lauren, Miranda, Liliana and Sean came along that "GroGro" really found her true calling. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and they loved their GroGro. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting beautiful sweaters for "her gang." Therese is survived by her brother Gody (and Lottie) Bronnimann (Robert, Alfred & Yvonne) and sister, Kathi (Gusti) Bannier (Sidney & Caroline) and her niece, Beatrice, all still in Switzerland. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Christine Bronnimann. Marko and Julie want to thank all of Therese's friends who cared for her and supported them throughout her long fight with Alzheimers. It is their fondest hope that a cure for this disease will be found. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Alzheimer's Association. Vecnaja Pamjat. Calling hours will be at the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church starting at 9am on Wednesday, July 3rd, with a church service following at 10:30am. Therese will be laid to rest next to Momcilo in Belmont Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
