Obituary

Boardman…Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church for Sally Ann Black, 72, who passed away Sunday morning. Sally was born February 16, 1941, in Campbell, the daughter of Nick and Irene Botch. She was a 1959 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and later attended Medical Tech School in Cleveland. Sally spent her entire life in the area and worked as a Medical Technologist at Bel-Park Lab and at US Steel, both in Youngstown She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church. Sally enjoyed playing golf at Bedford Trails, traveling, reading and gardening. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of Boardman, Will Black, whom she married March 31, 1973; her daughter, Sara Goldhardt of Columbus; her stepdaughter, Kristin (Richard) Ciaramella, of Dover, Del.; her sister, Rosalie Smrek of Poland; her brother, Nick (Margaret) Botch, Jr., of Highlands, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan and Rachael Ciaramella, both of Dover, and Amanda Goldhardt, of Columbus. Sally was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sally's name to Hospice of the Valley or the ALS Association. The Black family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Maplecrest Nursing Home and Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care. The Black family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Wednesday from 5-8:00 p.m.
