CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church for Rose Richards, beloved mother, sister, and aunt, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the age of 94. She was born June 21, 1919, in Campbell, the daughter of Matt and Katherine Schmidt Gogesch. Rose is survived by her daughter, Patricia of Columbus; son, Frank of Campbell; sister, Marie Sweetko of Campbell; and sister-in-law, Helen McDermott of Texas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry, who passed away Sept. 9, 1998; her son-in-law, Dennis Adams; sister, Katherine Julius; brother, John Gogesch; nieces, Patty and Carole Julius; and nephew, James Parks. "Rosie," as she was known to her family and friends, was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church. She and Henry were married at St. John's (Polish) Church on her birthday, June 21, 1947. During their 51 years of marriage they traveled and attended dances at Idora Park and especially enjoyed socializing with their many friends. Rosie had many part-time jobs during her life and relayed stories of her job in Detroit, making defense parts for the U.S. troops during World War II. She considered her most important job was that of wife and mother. She was constantly in her kitchen either cooking or baking for her family and friends. Rosie was always proud to call Campbell her home. She attended all of the school programs and sports activities of her children. She was always camera ready capturing memories with her eight mm camera. She loved attending Friday night football games. Also, every Election Day during the 1950s and 1960s, Rosie was again capturing memories of the Campbell candidates and their campaigns. Her dog, Barney, was her constant traveling companion. Her beautiful smile and lovable ways will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Should friends desire, donations may be made in Rosie's name to Angels for Animals. The Richards family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
