While raising their six children, she was an active volunteer at St. Lucy Catholic Church and St. William Catholic Church. As a devoted wife, she stood by her man and supported John's activities in The Optimist Club, and the Knights of Columbus often serving as the hostess for various conventions and events. The Knights of Columbus honored her as Lady of the Year in 2011.
