Struthers…A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John Catholic Church, for Richard A. "Dick" Gasper, 81, who passed away early Tuesday morning. Richard was born November 22, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of Adolph and Gabriella Hrutkay Gasper. He was a lifelong area resident. Richard was a Meat Department Manager and Meat Cutter for the Bindas Sparkle Market in Austintown, retiring after 30 years of service. He was an active member of St. John Catholic Church, its' Men's Club, Altar and Rosary Society, and participated in marriage preparation counseling. Richard also served as the Chairman of the Church's Spaghetti Dinners. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Tracy Gasper; two grandsons, Dominic and Angelo Gasper, all of Mansfield; and a sister, Martha Durkot of Boardman. His wife, the former Claire L. Chianello whom he married May 24, 1958, passed away April 9, 2009. Besides his wife, Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Debra; two brothers, Carl and Edward; and two sisters, Dorothy and Theresa. The Gasper family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Saturday at Church, prior to the funeral Mass from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
