Campbell: Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:30am at the Wasko Funeral Home and 10am in St. Joseph the Provider Church for Peter M. Novakoski, 97 who passed away Wednesday morning. Peter was born July 4, 1913 in Zanesville, the son of Michael and Mary Lupin Novokofsky and was a resident of Campbell for 95 years. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School, served his country in the U.S. Army and worked at General Fireproof in Youngstown as a furniture assembler. Peter was a member of the church and enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie and Canada but loved ice fishing the most. He joins his wife of over 52 years, the former Helen Kurowsky whom he married April 30, 1955, she passed away on March 22, 2008. He leaves to cherish his memory his stepson Charles (Shirley) Seymour; grandchildren Raymond (Lynn) Seymour and Trudy Seymour (Donald) Evans; great-grandchildren Anastasia Seymour and Russell, Maxwell and Mitchell Seymour; nephews Ray Novak and Alex Novakoski and nieces, Nancy Dunn, Linda Stanko, Audrey Caldwell, Susan Fritch and Paula Kirk. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister Helen Schultz; brothers Alex, Steve, John and Michael Novakoski and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hero?¢s Harbor Hospice Unit of Wade Park VAMC for the care they provided Mr. Novakoski. The Novakoski family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Sunday from 2-5pm.
