Peter J. Kocanyar, 94 Campbell…..Funeral services will be held 9:30am Tuesday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 10am in St. Angela Merici Parish (formerly Sacred Heart Church) for, Peter J. Kocanyar, 94, who passed away Wednesday evening. Peter was born, Dec. 12, 1919 in Youngstown the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kocanyar. He was a 1937 graduate of East High School. He retired from Youngstown Steel Door in 1979 where he worked for over 20 years. He was a member of the church; the Senior Citizen Group 2162 of Struthers; and many dart leagues. Peter enjoyed playing darts and fishing. His wife, the former Philomena Rinaldi whom he married in April of 1940, passed away in May of 1997. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Rosemarie Osman of Lowellville; grandsons, Richard (Tina) Osman of Lowellville, Russell Osman of Poland Twp., David (Jennifer) Osman of Lowellville, Douglas Osman of Boardman and Dennis Osman of Campbell; great-grandchildren, Alec, Alyssa, Nathan and Vanessa; one brother, Mike Ivko of Youngstown; and one sister, Mary Bozic of Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Philomena; his son-in-law, Dr. Richard Osman; and a grandson, Atty. Daniel Osman. The Kocanyar family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 to 7pm.
