YOUNGSTOWN- An hour of calling will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church for Paul Allen "P.A." Danus, 65, who recently passed away at his home. Paul was born on September 22, 1949, the son of Andrew Danus, Sr. and Margaret (Kikta) Danus. Paul was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended YSU and various schools for gunsmiths. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served on various ships as a machinist mate and spent time in Vietnam during that conflict. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 93 and a member of the Catholic War Veterans St. Stanislaus Post 1222. Paul worked as machinist and tool and die maker most of his life. He was employed at various machine shops including General Fireproofing and City Machine Technologies. He retired two years ago and began a new career as a published author of wildlife stories and as an animal removal specialist. Paul loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, gunsmith and trapper. He was a member of various rifle associations, Ducks Unlimited and the Ohio Brittany Club. He loved his Brittany Spaniel and won awards at the dog shows over the years. Paul leaves behind to cherish his memories his siblings, Andrew (Mary) Danus Jr. of Youngstown, Raymond (Carolyn) Danus of New Jersey, Gerald (Denise) Danus of Florida, and Mary (David) Aulsebrook in Australia. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Danus. The Danus family has entrusted the care of Paul to the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8. 2015, where the Catholic War Veterans will hold a ceremony at 4:45 PM.
