Nikitas was born March 25, 1932, in Kalymnos, Greece the son of Vasilios and Sevasti Maglis. As the eldest of 12 children, Nikitas selflessly helped his parents by taking on many jobs as a teenager on the island of Kalymnos. Through his travels, Nikitas learned several languages and could fluently speak Italian, German and English. In 1969, Nikitas and his family immigrated to the United States. During this time, Nikitas was employed as a bridge painter for various companies and retired from Kite Painting in 1987. During his retirement, Nikitas enjoyed vacationing to Greece, taking care of his home, and gardening. Nikitas valued time with his children and grandchildren and was always happy when he shared time with his loved ones. He especially treasured the frequent visits of numerous family members that would come to the United States. Nikitas was a member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. He was extremely proud of his Greek heritage and held the traditions of his culture very close. Nikitas enjoyed listening to traditional Greek music, especially that of his grandchildren's band. Above all else, Nikitas was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be forever remembered for his generosity, kindness, smiles and kisses. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Maria (Agelopoulou) Maglis, whom he married Dec. 16, 1977, and shared 38 years of marriage with; his sons, Vasilios (Aikaterine) Maglis of Campbell and Nicholas (Kristan) Maglis of Boardman; his daughters, Maria (Yianni) Triantafillos and Sevasti (Yianni) Kalidonis, both of Kalymnos, Greece; 11 grandchildren, Manolis, George, Katerina, Themeli, Andoni, Themelina, Nikitas, Theofilis, Nikitas, Kosta and Themeli; and five great-grandchildren.
