Obituary

Nicholas G. Frazeskos, 77 CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Steve Denas officiating, for Nicholas G. Frazeskos, 77, who passed away Wednesday afternoon. Nicholas was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Campbell, the son of George and Maria Alahouzis Frazeskos. He was a 1956 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended Youngstown College. Nicholas served in the U.S. Marines from 1957 to 1959. Prior to becoming a disabled veteran, he worked as a bridge painter, a Mahoning County Sheriff Deputy, and as a Campbell Police Officer. Nicholas also worked at US Steel Corporation as a security officer. He was a member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. Nicholas was active in the community as an active member of the VFW and American Legion Post 560. He was also a member of the Kalymnian Society. He enjoyed Greek music and was devoted to his Greek Orthodox faith. Above all, Nicholas cherished his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Thea (Gary) Martin of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., Caprice Manos of Florida, George N. Frazeskos of Campbell, Atty. Maria (Tony) Placanica of Cortland, Desiree (Charlie) Greco of Florida, whom he raised as his own daughter; his grandchildren, Raymond (Hana Shannir) Berry, Francesca, Isabella and Georgio Frazeskos, Adrianna, Olivia, and triplets, Anthony, Frankie and Dominic Placanica; great-grandchildren, Abdallah and Hamza Berry; his sister, Caliope Gialousis of Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Nicholas was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Spirtos, and his twin sisters, infant Frazeskos, who passed away at birth and Thealogia, who passed away at six months old. The Frazeskos family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
