Obituary

Campbell: Funeral services will be held 9:30am Wednesday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 10am in St. Joseph the Provider Church for Michael J. ââ?¬Å?Mate쳌 Kadilak, 93 who passed away Saturday afternoon in the Hospice House. Mike was born Nov. 18, 1916 in Campbell the son of John and Barbara Kocis Kadilak and was a life long area resident of Campbell. He served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII in the Philippines and in Alaska helping to build the White Pass Railway. He worked as a Crew Dispatcher on P & LE Railroad, retiring in 1980 after 43 years. He was a member of the church, the VFW in Struthers, The Hillcrest Old Timers and Club Leo. Mike enjoyed going to the Indianapolis 500 Race for over 40 years, attending his first race in 1958. He had a passion for crossword puzzles and an unbelievable memory; he traveled the world and loved and lived life to the fullest and was extremely adventurous. Mike was a great fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids and great-grandkids. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Frances May whom he married on Jan. 11, 1941; one son, Michael (Jaci) of Boardman; his daughter and son-in-law Evelyn (Donald) Malarcik of Canfield; grandchildren Michael Kadilak of Boardman, Donald (Alisa) Malarcik, Jr. of Akron, Deborah (Brian) Neff of Cleveland and Diane Malarcik and Susie Miller both of Las Vegas; great-grandchildren, Jace, Dylan and Reese Malarcik of Akron and Aiden and Ella Neff of Cleveland; a sister-in-law Helen Vrona; a good friend, George Geletka and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. John Koval, Dr. Robert Richuitti and the Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care given to Michael. The Kadilak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4-7pm.
