Campbell: Funeral services will be held 10:00am Monday at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Rotar officiating, for Merritt W. Galford, 71, who passed away Wednesday evening. Merritt was born March 31, 1941 in Valley Head W.Va., the son of Forest A. and Laura M. McCloud Galford. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1960-1964. Merritt was a commercial truck driver for various companies for over 40 years. He enjoyed Nascar racing, spending time with his pets, camping and spending time with his friends at Green Acres in Lake Milton. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Patricia Shields whom he married June 28, 2008; four children; a sister; an uncle; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews and four step-children. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son and two half brothers. The Shields-Galford family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Sunday from 4-8pm
