Biography

Matilda "Tillie" Marino, 74 Campbell………..Funeral services will be held 9:30am Friday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 10am in Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church for, Matilda "Tillie" Marino, 74, who passed away early Monday morning. Matilda was born August 1, 1938 in Carovelli, Italy, the daughter of Stefano and Lucia Sferra Yacovone. She was a member of the church and the Carovillesi Ladies Society. She was a seamstress by trade and later became a caterer. Matilda enjoyed spending Sundays baking and preparing meals to share with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and playing the slot machines. Her husband, Angelo whom she married Jan. 16, 1959, passed away Jan. 8, 2006. She leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Stephanie Marino (Dan) of Campbell, with whom she made her home, Jimmy (Janet) Marino of Cortland, Wanda (Greg) Pahanish of Southlake, TX, Lisa (Jamie) DeVore of Girard and Tony (Helen) Marino of Howland; nine grandchildren, Christina and Anthony Marino, Nicholas, A.J. and Alexa DeVore, Evan and Dana Pahanish and Brittni and Angelo Marino; two brothers, Ernie (Loretta) Yacovone of Austintown and George (Sandy) Yacovone of Campbell; a sister JoAnn (Ted) Spencer of Campbell; her dog Rocky; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Angelo. The Marino family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-8pm, where a prayer service will be held at 4:45pm
