Obituary

Mathew A. Stankich, 83 Campbell…Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Minister Carol Yablonovsky officiating, for Mathew A. Stankich, 83, of Campbell, who passed away Monday night at his daughters' home. Mathew was born May 28, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of Mathew and Sophie Logan Stankich. He graduated in 1949 from Campbell Memorial High School and went on to serve his country in the US Air Force. Mathew was a bricklayer for Youngstown Sheet and Tube and was also self-employed. He was a former member of St. John Catholic Church and was a member of the Croatian Lodge. Mathew leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, the former Mary Lou Sefchik of Campbell, whom he married October 30, 1952; his four children, Victoria Stankich-Gurak, Mathew Stankich, Joseph (Kathryn) Stankich and Cheryl Stankich Mallin; his grandchildren, Joy (Mark) Rudiak, Angel (Alfonso) Johnson, Mathew Stankich IV., Tracy (Beau) Sedivy, Jody Mallin, Jessica Jackson, and Paul (Kimberly) Mallin; nine great-grandchildren; and his brother, Charles (Evie) Stankich. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Stankich-Gregorich; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Baugh-Stankich. The Stankich family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Thursday morning from 10-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
