Marleen Ann Kana, 44

Campbell…Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, for Marleen Ann Kana, 44, who passed away Tuesday morning.

Marleen was born September 18, 1971, in Youngstown, the daughter of John J. and Elizabeth Jean Kovach Kana.

She was a 1989 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended classes at the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School for secretarial studies and participated in various tax preparation courses.

Marleen was employed as an Executive Secretary for William Barth and Associates.

She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Marleen will always be remembered for her great affection for nature and the outdoors.  She loved hiking, biking and camping.  Marleen enjoyed traveling with family and friends.  She loved animals especially her cats.  She was very savvy with computers.  Above all, Marleen cherished spending time with her family and her work family. She loved them both very much.

Marleen leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Elizabeth Jean Kana; her brother and sister, John P. Kana and Theresa Kana Brown (Steven, brother-n-law); her nieces, Natalie J. Brown and Stephanie M. Brown; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, John "Jack" Kana.

The Kana family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
