Obituary

LIBERTY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, celebrated by Monsignor Peter Polando, for Maria Panamarczuk, 94, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning.

Maria was born August 5, 1922 in Derazno, Poland, a daughter of Jan and Emilia Wilniewiec Karniewicz. She worked as a seamstress for Penn Ohio Towel Supply Company.

Maria had a green thumb, and had the most beautiful gardens, both vegetable and flower, around her home. Her hydrangeas and tomatoes were some of the biggest a person ever saw. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting and made the most beautiful blankets for every member of her family. She was an amazing cook- her galumpkis were out of this world.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Pete (Mary Ann) of Austintown, Chris, with whom she made her home, Theresa (Carl) Krawiec of Canfield, and John of Struthers, her grandchildren, Steve (Stephanie), Kevin (Lisa) and Michael (Niki) Panamarczuk, Rob (Susan) Pruden, and Lisa (Clayton) Cavell, her great grandchildren, Alex, Ava, Zachary, Mila, Grayson, and Nora, her sister-in-law, Helen Karniewicz of Girard, niece Margaret Karniewicz and nephew Richard Karniewicz.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Panamarczuk, whom she married August 25, 1945 and who passed away July 2, 1983, and her brother, Henry Karniewicz.

The family has entrusted Maria's care to the Kubina Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2017 and again from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the church.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Windsor House at Liberty Health Care Center and Northside Medical Center for their compassionate care of Maria in her time of need.
