Obituary

Campbell: Funeral services will be held 9:30am Thursday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 10am in St. John Catholic Church with Fr. John Jerek and Fr. Joseph Ruggieri officiating, for Louis R. Palusak, 90 who passed away Friday morning. Lou was born May 1, 1921 in Campbell the son of John and Catherine Churan Palusak. He attended Campbell Memorial High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater, 321st GAR 101st Airborne Division; participating in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Bastogne, where he received a Purple Heart. He worked for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., Cold Strip Dept.; he was a member of the church and United Steel Workers Local 1418. Lou liked planting a garden, working around the house and yard and was a Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. His wife the former Julia E. Berchik whom he married Aug. 23, 1941 passed away Oct. 6, 2004. Lou will be greatly missed and his memory forever cherished by his two sons Louis M. (Marge) Palusak of Struthers and Richard R. (Elaine) Palusak of Pleasant Mt., Pa.; four grandsons Kevin Palusak (Kathy Barros) of N.J., Daniel (Kara) Palusak of N.J., Matthew (Karen) Palusak of N.J. and Christopher Palusak of Struthers; one great-grandson Andrew Richard of N.J. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Julia; five brothers Lacey, John, Michael, August and Andrew and three sisters Matilda Butch, Sr. Mary Ida, V.S.C. and Mary Torres. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Sateri 102 for the care that was provided to Dad. Should friends desire, monetary donations can be made to the St. John Church Renovation Fund in Lou?¢s name. The Palusak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm.
