Esperanza Montanez-Gonzalez 82

Campbell…Esperanza Montanez-Gonzalez 82, passed away peacefully from this life the morning of February 22, after a gradual decline in health due to Alzheimer's. She was born April 21, 1934 in Maunabo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Ramon Gonzalez and Irenes Leon Gonzalez. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed making arts and crafts, crocheting and, attending 4-H classes. Esperanza will be sadly missed, but always remembered and loved by her family and friends. She leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories, six children, Maria Graham of Youngstown, Gladys (Craig) Heinrichs of Waltham, Massachusetts, Aida (Terry) Gongaware of Salem, Enrique (Noelia) Montanez of Lowellville, David (Nora) Montanez of Campbell, and Delia (Tim) McCaffery of Flower Mound, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Joshua Graham, Justin and Kayla Heinrichs, Manuel (Ashley) Figueroa, Christian and Alessandra Montanez, Antonio and Julianna Montanez, Emily, Lauren, and Timothy McCaffery; and two great grandchildren; Isaac Graham and Carmela Figueroa. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Cirilo Montanez; her parents and a sister. Esperanza's family would like to extend a special thank you to Aida, who went above and beyond providing exceptional care to their mother. The Montanez family would also like to thank St. Mary's Alzheimer's staff and personnel for their support while Esperanza was in their care as well as Bee Cruz. The family also requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association in honor of their mother Esperanza Montanez. Arrangements will be provided by Funeraria Las Piedras Memorial, Yabucoa,  Puerto Rico. The Montanez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
