A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 with Fr. Martin Celuch celebrating for Sara A. "Dolly" Wagner Makosky, who passed away suddenly on Friday, August 21, 2015.
Dolly was born August 18, 1937 in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph A. and Sarah Drapcho Wagner. She married Edward M. Makosky on September 2, 1961 and together they enjoyed 35 years of marriage.
Dolly worked at numerous places through the years, including the Elmton, Gaetano's Airport Tavern, Community Corrections Association, and the Inn at Christine Valley. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and playing bingo. She volunteered her time to her church for church functions. Most importantly, though, she loved spending time with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her beloved children, Edward Makosky II, Joseph (Jodie) Makosky, Michelle LoSasso, and Gloria (Robert Jr.) Baghurst, all of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Brittany, and Justin Makosky, Robert III, Randi, and Rachel Baghurst; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Liam, Emillia, and Renee, and her siblings, John (Patricia) Wagner of Masury, Rose Lucarell of Austintown, Rita (Anthony) Noday of Niles, Patricia (Daniel) Napolitan of Austintown, and Kathleen (Thomas) Melone of Austintown, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, who passed away February 14, 1997 and her brother, Jerome Wagner.
The family has entrusted the care of Sara to the Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home where they will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery.
