Rina Lucia Mazzarino, 85 CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church for Rina Lucia Mazzarino, 85, who passed away Sunday night. Rina was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Toro, Campobasso, Italy, the daughter of Cosmo and Maria Partsiella Evangelista. She came to the United States from Italy in 1957, and she was a homemaker, and a devoted wife and mother. Rina was a parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She was an active member of the Campbell Senior Citizens. She devoted her life to the church and volunteered for more than 50 years at St. Lucy's kitchen. Rina was known for her cooking and baking. She shared her talents with many, including her grandchildren, by teaching them to make pizza and bread. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She was known as "Nanee" to all. Rina's husband, Patsy Mazzarino, whom she married Aug. 3, 1957, passed away Nov. 19, 1987. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Patty Mazzarino, at home, who was her caregiver, and Lucy (Ray) Gayetsky of Poland; and her grandchildren, Amanda Gayetsky of Dublin and Patrick Gayetsky of Poland. Besides her husband, Patsy, Rina was preceded in death by her parents; her four brothers, Nick, Anthony, Santuccio and Angelo; and her sister, Constance. The Mazzarino family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
