Ann R. Novacich, 93
CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Ann R. Novacich, 93, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at Austinwoods Nursing Center.
Ann was born April 24, 1921, in Campbell, the daughter of John and Anna Kuprak Sklenchar.
She was a lifelong area resident of Campbell and lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She was a homemaker whose first love was spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking traditional Slovak foods and everyone enjoyed her kolachi, pierogi and homemade pies.
Ann spent many hours crocheting and knitting beautiful afghans and doilies for her family and friends. She also kept her crossword and word search puzzles close at hand. She continued to play cards in her later years and still enjoyed the satisfaction of winning. She loved watching sports and was always hopeful her favorite Indians and Browns teams would have winning seasons.
Her greatest joy was her 70 year marriage to John. They had many healthy years together and frequently attended Bingo games or trips to the casinos. She enjoyed dressing up, putting on a pair of her beautiful shoes and going dancing with John.
Ann was a very loving mother who will be sadly missed by her sons, Kenneth (Andrea) of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Jerry (Linda) of North Canton; her daughter, Jean (Frank) Farkas of Austintown; eight grandchildren, Ken, Karen, Larry, Brian, Nancy, Katie, Jeff and Greg; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a sister, Mary; and a brother, John.
The Novacich family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Austinwoods Nursing Center, where Ann resided for the past three years. The staff provided exceptional care and genuine concern for her well being and making her feel at home. Also, a thank you to the All Caring Hospice staff who provided additional care and comfort. In addition, the family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. James Demidovich, for his compassionate care and for brightening Ann's day with his visits.
The family requests that material contributions be made to Austinwoods Activity Department, 4780 Kirk Road, Austintown, OH 44515. Ann truly enjoyed spending time attending the bingo games and music entertainment they provided.
The Novacich family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
