Eugene R. "Geno" Sanders, 84 Campbell…Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Russian Orthodox Church, with Father Andrew Nelko officiating for Eugene R. "Geno" Sanders, 84, who passed away Friday night. Geno was born March 4, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of John and Mary Pekarcik Sanders and was a lifelong area resident. He retired from Sharon Steel after 45 years of service. Geno was a member of St. John Russian Orthodox Church. Besides being a member of the church and the South Range Booster Club, Geno enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in high school and college sporting events. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, the former Ann Rusnak, whom he married August 21, 1950; his son, Jim (Barb) Sanders of Columbiana; three grandchildren, Jim Sanders of San Francisco, California, Kira (Ty) Henkaline of Columbus, and Andra (John) Less of Manassas, Virginia, and his great-grandson, Holden James Henkaline. Besides his parents, Geno was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Lawrence Sanders and two sisters, Josephine Godward and Ethel LaPaze. The Sanders family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
