Marcelina Andujar, 91
YOUNGSTOWN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 11 a.m. at. St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, with Fr. Kevin Peters officiating, for Marcelina Andujar, 91, formerly of Bruce Street, who peacefully passed away Thursday morning.
Marcelina was born June 14, 1923, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Gregorio de Jesus and Catalina Maldonado.
She came to Ohio as a young bride when she married her husband, Carmelo Andujar, who passed away in April of 1962.
She worked for Ohio Hotel and later worked at Brentwood Originals, retiring in 1985.
Marcelina will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and laugh. She too will be remembered as the one who always had food on the table no matter what time of the day or day of the week you decided to drop in on her.
She raised five children being widowed early in her marriage, helped raise three grandchildren, and shared her life with ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also reared her niece, Gloria DeJesus.
Marcelina was honored as "The Mother of the Year" in 1973 by the Sons of Borinquen Club.
For enjoyment, Marcelina enjoyed cooking, reading, embroidery, strolling through the Canfield Art Exhibits and spending time with her family.
Marcelina will be lovingly remembered by her children, Annette Burk, Margarita (Carlos) Rodriguez, Nelson (Norma) Andujar, Hilda (Jim) McKee, and Nellie Fernandez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carmelo Andujar; a grandson, Christopher Andujar; her sons-in-law, Thomas and Alonso; a nephew, Miguel deJesus; her sister, Inez; and four brothers, Joseph, Manuel, Gregory, and Antonio.
Burial will take place at Calvary cemetery.

The Andujar family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
