Leona E. Perod, affectionately known as LeeLee, 88 of Columbiana, Ohio formerly of Youngstown, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Born on February 6, 1937 to the late Arthur and Mary (Booth) Martin, Lee grew up on the west side of Youngstown, where she met the love of her life. She married James E. Perod on August 10, 1957 and they were married for 23 years before James passed away on May 22, 1981.
As a teenager, Lee worked at the "Schenley Show" on the west side of Youngstown. Later in life she worked as a short order cook at the Woolworth Café in the Southern Park Mall. The job she loved the most though was babysitter to her grandchildren and to her "boys", Johnny and Michael Petro.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister, Nancy Miller; daughters, Christine (Brian) Goss, Beverly Leombruno (Frank Colucci), and Donna (Ted) Thornton; three granddaughters, Amanda (Ricky) Anderson, Trista Goss (Andrew Binkney) and Cassandra Thornton (Aaron Busch); one grandson, Dominic (Summer) Leombruno; and her greats, Connor Anderson, Alexander Binkney, Abigail Anderson, Angelina and Lucia Leombruno.
The Perod family has entrusted Leona's care to the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home in Boardman. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 5-7pm at the funeral home in Boardman. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 9:15am at Kubina-Yuhasz –Wasko Funeral Home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Dominic's Church in Youngstown.
Leona will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor House at Parkside, Dr. James Demidovich and his staff, and the dedicated nurses from Sanctuary Hospice for their care and compassion.
