Campbell…Private family services were held Saturday at the Wasko Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Steve Varga, for Kathyrn C. Vargo, 73, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home. Kathryn was born May 27, 1940, in Youngstown, the daughter of Gazel (Casey) and Helena Nicholas Auguston. She was a 1958 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a lifelong area resident. During her high school years, Kathryn was a member of the Campbell Memorial Marching band. She was the owner and operator of Kathy's Beauty Shoppe in Campbell. Kathryn retired in 2002 from the Mahoning County Public Library, where she served as a clerk for over 20 years. She was an active member of the former Hungarian Reformed Church, known now as, Rockview Christian Church in Youngstown. Kathryn was also a member of the Campbell Friends of the Library Group. Kathryn was an avid reader and she enjoyed gardening. Most of all, she loved traveling to visit her son, James in Columbus. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James J. Vargo, whom she married November 7, 1964; her son, Atty. James G. Vargo of Columbus; her mother, Helena; her sister, Judy (Jim) Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father. The Vargo Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.
