Campbell: Funeral services will be held 10:30am Thursday at the Wasko Funeral Home and 11am in St. Joseph the Provider Church for Katherine (Kay) Bernard, 87 who passed away Sunday morning. Katherine was born Nov. 14, 1923 in Campbell, the daughter of Martin and Josephine Senjanec and was a life long area resident of Campbell. She was a 1941 January graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and worked for Bernard Lumber Co. as a secretary, she also volunteered her time at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Kay was a member of St. Stephen of Hungary Church, loved playing bingo and slot machines and taking bus trips to casinos. Her husband James H. whom she married on Nov. 20, 1943 passed away March 23, 1994. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Carol (Chuck) Zamary of Campbell, James Bernard of Youngstown, June Bionci of Campbell and David (Cheri) Bernard of Austintown; grandchildren, Chuck Zamary of Milton, Fla., Mark Zamary of Boardman, Carol (Jeff) Michaels of Youngstown, Todd Zamary of Campbell, Lori Arbuckle of Niles, Mark (Krystal) Bionci of Cortland and Jenn, Janet, Brian and Mike Bernard of Austintown; 20 great-grandchildren and a brother Joe Senjanec of Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter Janet and her step-father Jack Hoavath. The family of Katherine wish a sincere ââ?¬Å?Thank You?¢ to the staff of Park Vista for the wonderful care given to their Mom. The Bernard family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8pm with a 7:45 prayer service.
