Juanita Gonzalez, 88 Campbell…Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home with Pastor Celina Covington officiating for Juanita Gonzalez who passed away early Friday morning. Juanita was born January 5, 1925, in Lares, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Antonio and Mercedes Cortes Acevedo. She was of the Catholic faith. Juanita will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and abuela. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Ramona Gonzalez of Chicago, Zoraida Gonzalez (Hector Pagan) of Campbell, Carmen Moran (Angel) of Chicago, Jose Alberto Torres (Frannie Corsale) of Girard; her loving daughter-in-law, Maria Torres of Campbell; her grandchildren, Iris Centeno Roman, Nancy Abarrca, Miriam Gonzalez, Candido Gonzalez, Carmen Judy, Gilberto Gonzalez, Zoraida Luciano, Mildred Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Luis Valentin, Ralph Rodriguez, Leslie Anna Valentin, Cynthia Torres, Yolanda Torres, Jose Torres, Jr., Angelico Torres, Christin Torres, Marco Torres, David Torres, Louis Molina and Joseph Molina; many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Gonzalo Torres Gonzalez, passed away June 26, 1984. Besides her husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her two sons, Jose Antonio Torres and Samuel Torres; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Gonzalez and her great-great grandson, Anthony Rodriguez. The Gonzalez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Tuesday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that monetary donations be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
