Biography

Joseph  Martin Pavlansky, 93 Campbell………….Memorial services will be held Thursday evening at 7:00pm at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Deacon Tony Falasca officiating for, Joseph Martin Pavlansky, 93, who passed away early Friday morning, July 22. Joseph was born June 17, 1923 in Youngstown, the son of Steve and Mary Sefcek Pavlansky. He was a graduate of Struthers High School; and was employed at St. Elizabeth Health Center and Truscon Steel. Joe played a lot of baseball throughout his life and loved to fish. He loved College Football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team and Cleveland Indians baseball; and he also enjoyed collecting record albums.  He was a member of the Jednota. His wife, the former Ruth Jean Miklas, whom he married in July of 1969, passed away in Feb. of 2013. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted son and best friend, Dennis and Bonnie Pavlansky of Campbell; grandchildren, Joseph (Toni Iacobacci) of Campbell and Shannon (Craig) Wojtowicz, of Pa.; great-granddaughter, Emma Wojtowicz of Pa.; step-grandchildren, Michael Varso, Nicole (Tim) Snavely, Bryan Miklas and David Miklas; two step-daughter-in-laws, Mary Ann Miklas and Margie Miklas; and eight step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; brothers, Steve and John; a sister, Mary Petruska; stepsons, Donald, Larry and Butch Miklas; and step-daughter-in-law, Pam Miklas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley and St. Jude Children's Hospital, in Joe's name. The Pavlansky family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
