John A. Zuraw, 85 Campbell……….A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Monday in Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Church for John A. Zuraw, 85, the best husband and father whom God welcomed home Tuesday, March 18 at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born Nov. 21, 1928 in Campbell, the son of Andrew and Mary Malek Zuraw. A graduate of Campbell Memorial High School in 1948, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps in Aug. of 1948, serving as a sergeant in Inchan, North Korea. He worked for LTV (Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co.) in the Seamless department until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the church, where he was a Bingo caller for many years. John loved to work with his hands building many additions to his home. His pride and joy was his family and he leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, the former Jean Konopka; two sons, Monsignor John A. Zuraw of Girard and Michael (Kimberly) Zuraw of Poland; a sister, Suzanna Zuraw of Liberty; any many nieces and nephews, who brought him much happiness. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; a sister, Rose (Charles) Minarovic; five brothers, Michael (Bernice) Zuraw, Leo (Stephanie) Zura, Ralph (Antoinette) Zura, and infant brothers, John and August; his in-laws, John and Catherine Konopka; and a brother-in-law, Chester (Fay) Konopka. John's family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Ricciardi, Dr. Delatore, Dr. Gady and there staff; care giver Joan; nurses, Lori, Erika, and Tanya; the staff of St. Elizabeth Wound Care; and a special thank you to his barber, Bob Tarcy. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Ursuline Sisters, 4250 Shields Rd., Canfield, Ohio 44406 in John's name. The Zuraw family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home and again on Monday morning from 10 to 11am at St. Joseph the Provider Church.
