Obituary

John S. Pawlosky, 61 BOARDMAN – Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, officiated by the Very Rev. Gregory Maturi, for John S. Pawlosky, 61, who passed away Monday due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. He fought a long, hard battle with myledesplasia syndrome for four years. John was born Feb. 10, 1954, the son of Stanley and Grace Smith Pawlosky. He was a 1972 graduate of Boardman High School. Following his graduation, John was hired at Ohio Edison, where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 2011. John had a strong work ethic which was demonstrated by the many hobbies he had. He was a volunteer firefighter for Boardman from 1978 to 1996. In 1991, he took private airplane lessons at Youngstown Airport, did his solo, and earned his private pilot's license. John was a ham radio operator under the call sign KC8YLW. He especially loved photography and computers. He always served as the designated photographer at all family and sporting events. John took many beautiful pictures to give to family and friends. He was the "go to" person for all computer questions. John was always working on, setting up, troubleshooting, or repairing them for someone. He also loved detailing cars. John was always there to help anyone, anywhere or anytime of the day or night. He was an early riser, getting up at 3 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday to make coffee for himself and his brother-in-law and best friend, Bob. Together, they solved all of the world's problems in the wee hours of the morning. Prior to his illness, John could be found in Mill Creek Park, where he walked eight miles every morning. The most important thing to John was family. He always made sure to tell them how much he loved them. John leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 35 years, Lorna Caswell Pawlosky, whom he married April 21, 1979; his two adoring daughters, Lisa Ann Riley and Amy Christine Dimargio, both of Boardman; his precious grandsons, who he was so proud of, Victor Nicholas John Dimargio and Liam Joseph Riley; his brothers and sisters-in law, Bob and Sharon Caswell of Poland, Darlene Caswell of Poland, Colleen Lingo of Boardman and Peggy (Mike) Jackintell of Struthers; two nephews, Michael Pacholec of Austintown and Dennis (Christy) Pacholec of Columbus; his nieces, Terra Caswell of Poland, Katie (Neal) Balestrino of Dayton, Megan Caswell of Poland and Kaylee Jackintell of Struthers; great-nephews, T.J., Dawson, and Anthony; and great-nieces, Dakota and Gianna, who was just born Friday. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Stan Jr.; his brothers-in-law, Gary Caswell and Walt Lingo; and his niece, Heather Caswell. John's family would like to thank all of the many beautiful friends and co-workers of John, Lorna and their daughters. Their prayers, love, and support mean the world to John's family. They would also like to thank the doctors who took care of John over the past few years, including, Drs. Ed Miller, John Koval, Chris Knight and Dr. Tareshawty, and the wonderful nurses from St. Elizabeth, the Hope Center and Hospice. John's family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home in Boardman and will receive family and friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
