Biography

POLAND – Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church with Father Michael Swierz officiating for Joanne B. "Aunt Jay" Pahut, 89, who went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2013. Joanne was born July 21, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Caroline Bak Pachut. She attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School, Grant Junior High, and graduated in June 1941 from South High School. She then attended Business College upon her graduation. Joanne was employed by and retired from the Dollar Bank after 44 years in the mortgage department. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Altar & Rosary Sodality, the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and the Polish Choir, as well as the Dollar Bank Retirees. Her pride was her Polish heritage. She also enjoyed bowling and all different kinds of sports. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends when they had get-togethers and sang "Sto Lat". She leaves to cherish her memories, her sisters, Adele Glista, Helene Krispinsky, and Mary Sympson, her wonderful caregiver whom she lived with, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Sgt. Stanley Pahut, B. Paul "Brownie" Pahut, and Sr. Mary Maximina, O.F.S., brothers-in-law, Andrew Glista, Sr., J. Ben Krispinsky, and Frank Sympson, Sr. The Pahut family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home where they will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Parish organizations will begin a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. where the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will recite the litany and the Altar and Rosary Sodality will recite the rosary. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses, aides, and staff of Masternick Health Care for the loving care they provided Joanne.
