Obituary

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church, 633 Porter Ave. in Campbell, for Joann P. Lahovich, 88, who died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 28, at Rockynol Ledges in Akron. Joann was born June 28, 1924, in Campbell, the daughter of John and Josephine Kargol Lysowski. She was a 1942 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. During the war years, she worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube. On Aug. 14, 1946, Joann married her high school sweetheart, Joe Lahovich, who was a 1941 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She resided in Campbell until recently. Her love of life, family, and friends and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed. Joann leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Jacquelyn (Patrick) Lamar of Lansing, Kan.; her son, Joseph M. (Karen) Lahovich of Cuyahoga Falls; grandsons, CPT. Christopher T. (Suzanne) Lamar of Fort Riley, Kan. and Nathan J. Lahovich of Cuyahoga Falls; granddaughters, Kimberly A. (Victor) Lamar Stroud of Prairie Village, Kan. and Emily E. Vaeth of Kent; and great-grandchildren, Ava Lamar, Kelsey Stroud, Lucy Lamar and Collin Stroud, whom she loved dearly. Joann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Joe Lahovich; and her dear sister, Viola Jagelsky. A private family burial service will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery following the Mass of Christian Burial at Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the VNS Hospice of Akron, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333. The Lahovich family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.
