Youngstown…Private funeral services were held June 24, 2013 at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Father Michael Swierz officiating, for Jerome R. Jackson, 74, who passed away Friday evening. Jerome was born January 31, 1939, in Aurora, New York, the son of Walter James and Rose Elizabeth Schimpf Jackson. He was a 1957 graduate of East High School. Jerome worked at Republic Rubber, which later became Aeroquip. He was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Jerome leaves to cherish his memories, his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and George Douglas of Campbell; his brother and sister-in-law, Walter J. and Charlotte Jackson of Youngstown; his five nieces and nephews, Lora Baker of Campbell, Melissa Gallop of Parma, Robert Douglas of Campbell, Dawn Marie Jackson of Youngstown and Walter Charles Jackson of Youngstown and numerous great nieces and nephews. His wife, the former Elizabeth Mandoki, whom he married February 13, 1971, passed away July 11, 1997. Besides his wife, Elizabeth, Jerome was preceded in death by his parents. The Jackson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.
