Obituary

An hour of calling will be held from 9:00am to 10:00am on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown, followed immediately by a Memorial Mass at 10:00am, celebrated by Father Christopher Luoni for Jerome "Jab" Jablonski, who passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 20, 2016. Jerome was born February 11, 1933 in Youngstown, a son of the late Frank and Veronica Jablonski. He was a 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and proudly served with the U.S. Army.  He was employed for at Tamarkin Co., where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and was a member of the Polish National Society, Slovak Catholic Sokol and Jednota. Jerome also enjoyed golfing in his free time. Jerome leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of more than 59 years, the former Florence Bednar whom he married August 18, 1956. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by his brothers, Julius, Walter and William Sovak, Henry and Chester Jablonski; a sister, Helen Melesky. Jerome's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Masternick Memorial for their care and compassion during Jerome's time of need. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to St. Paul's Church or to their charity of your choice in Jerome's name.
