Obituary

James Robert Marrara, 68 Niles………..Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday afternoon at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell for, James Robert Marrara, 68, who passed away Monday evening. James was born Oct. 25, 1947 in Warren, the son of Joseph and Ruth Pellino Marrara. He was a 1966 graduate of Niles High School and went on to serve his country in the United States AirForce from 1966 to 1970 stationed in Hahn Air Force Base in Germany. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles; the Mahoning Valley Old Car Club; and the Knights of Columbus. He was also the owner of Jamsey's Auto Parts (NAPA). Taking after his mother, he was an avid gardener, excelling in growing tomatoes and peppers. His love of car show's and classic cars started from a young age while wrenching on cars with his brothers.  He refined his mechanical talents as a Sgt. in the USAF working as a hydraulic mechanic on F-4 Phantom Fighter Jets.  He shared his love of cars and the Cleveland Browns with his sons. He was full of humor, respected by all who knew him personally and professionally. As a 28 year survivor of catastrophic stroke, he became an example of how to live life with grace and dignity. His spirit will live on in all those he left behind. Additionally, he personally gave to local needy families and was a longtime supporter to St. Jude Children's Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory, his ex-wife, best friend and lifelong companion, Cathy Marrara of Poland; two sons, Adam (Alicia) Marrara of Cape Canaveral, Fl and Joshua (Jennifer) Marrara of Poland one granddaughter, Calabria Marrara of Cape Canaveral, Fl; two brothers, Anthony (Diane) Marrara of Champion and Albert (Marcia) Marrara of Broken Arrow, OK; one sister, Mary (Jerry) Slanina of Howland; and his trusted and loyal caregivers. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pasquale "Patsy" Marrara; and his companion dog, Javier. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in James's name. The Marrara family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and will receive family and friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 to 1:00pm.
