Irene "Sugar" Waliga, 89 Campbell……….Private family services were held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 9:30am at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell and at 11am in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church for Irene "Sugar" Waliga, 89 who passed away Thursday, April 10th. Irene was born March 19, 1925 in Campbell, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Cifrik Blasko. She was a retiree from the GE Lamp Plant on Market St., in Youngstown, with over 30 years of service. She also worked at the McKelvey Store as a Sales Clerk. She enjoyed walking in Roosevelt Park in Campbell when she was able to; she liked listening to talk radio; and listening and watching sports on TV, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State. She was a member of the church; its Infant Jesus of Prague Guild; and the GCU Lodge 360 Her husband, Michael P. Waliga, whom she married July 25, 1953 at St. Michael Byzantine Church, passed away, March 15, 1996. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Joseph Blasko; sister-in-laws, Teresa Blasko and Dorothy Blasko; and many nieces and nephews, who to them she was known as "Aunt Sugar". She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Michael; a sister, Martha Macala; and brothers, John, Nicholas, William, Raymond, and Michael Blasko and three infants. The Waliga family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Interment was held in St. Michael Byzantine Cemetery in Campbell.
