Irene E. Arrowsmith, 90 STRUTHERS – Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home for Irene E. Arrowsmith, 90, formerly of East Liverpool, who passed away Dec. 16, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. She left this world peacefully with her family at her side. Irene was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Dudley, England, the daughter of Samuel and Laura Arrowsmith and migrated to the United States with her mother while still a young child. She spent most of her life in East Liverpool and was employed by Homer Laughlin China for over 40 years. During these years, she made many friends and was well loved by all who knew her. She was a lifelong member of St. Steven's Episcopal Church. In the last years of her life, she resided in good care at Maplecrest Nursing Home in Struthers, where she made many friends by sharing her love with staff members and other residents alike. Irene leaves behind a brother, Robert; a nephew, Joseph and his wife, Mirta of Campbell. She also leaves behind a great-nephew, Matthew Arrowsmith and a great-niece, Samantha Arrowsmith. Irene loved both of them dearly. Many nieces and nephews will mourn her passing as well as her good friends, Alexander Valentin and Tira Stowers. The Arrowsmith family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the 7 p.m. funeral service.
