Irene Angel, 102 Tenafly, NJ…Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Father Steve Denas officiating for Irene Angel, 102, of Tenafly, NJ, formerly of Campbell, who passed away Friday, August 21, 2015. Irene was born November 30, 1912, in Symi, Greece, the daughter of Nicholas and Polyxenie Perakis. She resided in Campbell from 1940-1999, until moving to New Jersey in 1999. Irene worked as a seamstress. She was a chartered member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, a past member of the Philoptochos Society and a member of the Symian Society. Irene was a very devoted member of the church and was known for making the first choir robes for its' members and decorating the church for the Good Friday services. Irene will always be remembered as a very kind, loving and spiritual person. She was the beloved mother of Jennie Angel Ross; the loving grandmother of Stephen (Sandy) Beukas, Michael (Jennifer) Beukas and Matthew J. (Christine) Ross; and the loving great-grandmother of Sean, Emily, and Sophie Beukas and Julia and Robert James Ross. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emanuel, her daughter, Constance Selsky and her sister, Mary Megaloudis. The Angel family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Monday from 9-10:00 a.m. at the Church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service.
