Ida P. Massaro, 83
Campbell…A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church for Ida P. Massaro, who passed away Sunday after a brief illness.
Ida was born July 22, 1930, in Campbell, the youngest daughter of Antonio and Bambina D'Eramo Gennaro. As a young child, Ida moved to Bugnara with her family remaining there until the end of World War II. She then returned to Campbell where she lived until her passing.
On June 2, 1956, Ida married Joseph Massaro. After a long and happy marriage, Joe passed away on April 24, 2010.
Ida was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Lucy Catholic Church and its' Infant Jesus of Prague Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; her sisters and their husbands, Nicolina (Carmine) DiDomenico and Mary (Nick) Mazzocca; an infant brother and sister; and a great nephew, Jeffrey Pressly.
Mourning her loss are her nieces, Lena (William) D'Andrea of Irvine, Calf., Rita Pressly of Rancho Bernardo, Calf. and Susan (John) Almasy, who was her care-giver. She will be especially missed by her godchildren, Joseph Almasy of Las Vegas and Nicole (Chad) Bruggeman of Westerville; her nieces, Rita (Terry) Jakal, Jodi (Brian) Clancy, Jennifer Hansen, Paula (John) Seif and Jody (Bryan) Schmucker and her nephew David (Jess) Pressly and their children who all held very special places in her heart. Ida also leaves many loving nieces and nephews from the Massaro family, especially Jillian (Justin) Eddy and her devoted friend, Nancy (George) Ginnis and her family.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at St. Lucy Catholic church. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial offerings be made in Ida's memory to either Christ the Good Shepherd Parish or Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, Ohio, 44514.
