Obituary

Campbell: Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Rev. Al Yanno officiating, for Howard T. Ball, 82, who passed away Saturday evening at Assumption Village Nursing Center. Mr. Ball was born on December 10, 1929 in Youngstown, the son of James and Harriett Richardson Ball and was a lifelong area resident. He worked at the Republic Steel Corporation for 38 years as an operator of the By-Product. Mr. Ball served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952, where he achieved the rank of staff sergeant in the Aircraft Mechanics Division. He was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. Mr. Ball was an avid Campbell Memorial sports fan. His family and friends will miss and always remember his helping hand and sense of humor. Besides his wife, the former Janette M. Ciccolelli, whom he married on January 14, 1956, he leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter Susan (Joseph) Capp; and two grandchildren, Kristen Capp and Michael Capp, all of Strongsville; two brothers, Jack (Jane) Ball of Canfield and Ken (Maria) Ball of Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Ball of Youngstown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Ball; five sisters, Alice Ball, Harriett Huth, Rebecca Beichler, Sarah Averbach, and Kathleen Ball; as well as a brother, Richard Ball. The Ball family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:00 p.m.
