Helen M. Wasko, 95

Youngstown…A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christine Catholic Church, with Rev. John Keehner officiating, for Helen M. Wasko, 95, who passed away early Wednesday morning.

Helen was born August 16, 1921, in Youngstown, the daughter of George and Katherine Puskar Shuba.

She was a 1939 graduate of Chaney High School.

Helen was a homemaker and the family caregiver, always putting them first.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish at Holy Name Catholic Church in Youngstown and was a member of the Rosary Society, the Ladies' Guild and the Choir.

Helen enjoyed bingo, knitting, crafts and loved playing the Phase "10" card game with her friends.

Her husband, Charles Wasko, whom she married November 25, 1948, passed away January 20, 2010.

Helen leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Carole Kolman (George) of Poland, Gene Wasko (Glenna) of Canfield, and Charles Wasko (Marilyn) of Stow; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents; and her husband, Charles, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Richard; and her brothers, Msgr. Michael, George, Edward and John.

The Wasko family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Saturday morning from 9-10:00 a.m.at the church, prior to the 10:00 p.m. funeral mass.
