Helen F. Kuropchak, 89 STRUTHERS - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Wasko Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Swierz officiating, for Helen F. Kuropchak, 89, who passed away Sunday morning at the Assumption Village Nursing Home. Helen was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Youngstown, the daughter of Matthew and Anna Sikora Kuna. She attended St. Elizabeth Elementary School, and later graduated from East High School. She was a lifelong area resident. Helen worked as a meat wrapper at Giant Eagle for many years. Helen was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Campbell and later was a parishioner of Christ our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Struthers. Her husband, John R. Kuropchak, whom she married on Sept. 4, 1948, passed away Aug. 29, 1990. Helen leaves to cherish her memories, her son, John D. Kuropchak of Stockton Springs, Maine. Besides her parents and her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Globeck, Margaret Westhart, Mary Zumrick and Sophie Ondrey. The Kuropchak family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Thursday morning from 9 to        10 a.m. at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made in Helen's name to Christ our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
