Helen Elizabeth Gubany, "Bub" 98 Campbell…Helen Elizabeth Gubany (Bub), our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away January 12, 2015 at Woodlands at Hampton Woods in Poland. Helen was born August 24, 1916, in Struthers, to Maria (Osika) and George Gurella. In June of 1936, she married Joseph Gubany and they had three children, Patricia, Donald "Buzz" and Susan. She was a lifetime resident of Youngstown and Campbell. Helen managed the Fanny Farmer Candy Store in downtown Youngstown for 30 years. She loved to travel and was always ready to have a new adventure. She especially loved to sing and have fun, and she had a great sense of humor. Her love of children extended to all children, not just those in her immediate family. She touched many lives and brought happiness and joy to all she met. Helen is survived by her daughter, Patricia (David) Felger of Newnan, Georgia, her son, Donald (Carol) of Youngstown; and her son-in-law, Leonard Summers of West Middlesex, Pa; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; and her daughter, Susan. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Hampton Woods Staff, Michelle Bader, R.N. Hospice Nurse for Senior Independence, and Shante, Helen's nighttime caregiver. At the family's request, funeral arrangements are private and there are no calling hours. Helen's family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home.
